YoFio streamlines this underwriting process through its innovative machine vision model which analyzes a simple video of the store and its inventory to estimate its true sales and risk of closure.
This unique data-driven underwriting model allows YoFio to assess risk quickly and accurately, disbursing loans with minimal overheads. Not only is this a powerful way to assess risk, but the efficiency of YoFio’s digital-first underwriting solution allows it to reach corner stores all over the country with ease. Indeed, YoFio is already providing credit to over 2,000 stores across Mexico — a figure that’s increasing 25% month-on-month — with an impressive default rate below 6%.
Short-term emergencies and other cash flow problems can prove fatal for local mom and pop stores. If inventory drops, even for a short time, customers will simply move on to other vendors. By giving local corner stores access to quick and easy financing, with the option to take a traditional loan, or receive 14 days interest free credit at its nationwide network of inventory wholesalers, YoFio is driving financial inclusion, helping corner stores invest in their local businesses, and most importantly, helping everyday entrepreneurs respond to financial emergencies.
